2010 Ronald Reagan Presidential Library

On February 27, 2010, more than 40 Medal of Honor recipients gathered at the Ronald Reagan Presidential Library in Simi Valley, California with approximately 800 invited guests for the third annual Celebration of Freedom….Let Freedom Ring gala.  

Co-hosts for the evening were Mr. David McIntyre, President & CEO of TriWest Healthcare Alliance and a Foundation board member, actor, entertainer of U.S. troops and Emmy and Golden Globe Award winner, Mr. Gary Sinise and businessman, Mr. Bruce Brereton.   

In addition to a tribute to America’s Medal of Honor recipients and what they represent, the Congressional Medal of Honor Society and Foundation honored several deserving Americans or institutions that have had a profound impact on our country.

Medal of Honor Recipients Pat Brady and Leo Thorsness Present American Spirit Award

ROTC Cadet with American Spirit Award

Receiving the American Spirit Award was the Reserve Officer Training Corps programs of the U.S. Armed forces. Approximately 50 ROTC cadets from the services attended the gala and were presented to the guests. The award was presented by Medal of Honor recipient, Pat Brady, an ROTC graduate, to Midshipman 2nd Class Joven Dinglason, from the University of Southern California, representing all of the ROTC cadets who aspire to serve their country in the defense of freedom. The American Spirit Award was presented to the ROTC programs of all of the services for their continued dedication to producing our country’s leaders and heroes of the future.

For his life-long service and dedication to the health of our military and our nations, Dr. James Peake, former Secretary of Veterans Affairs, was presented The Distinguished Citizen Award by Society president, Leo Thorsness with co-host David McIntyre assisting.
